FAQs
Wait, how do I get there again?
There are multiple ways to get to Friday Harbor from the mainland. You can get here by ferry (your best option), tiny plane, or water taxi if you’re cool like that.
If you’re sailing from the mainland, you’ll launch from Anacortes. If you’re flying, you’ll take off from Boeing Field in Seattle.
You can walk on the ferry for super cheap from Anacortes. There are a few shuttle companies that travel from the Seattle airport to the Ferry Terminal. Inter-island travel (ex: OI-SJI) is free for walk-on passengers.
If you’re driving on the boat from Anacortes, you’ll need to get a reservation online and then pay a roundtrip fare at the terminal. Getting a reservation in advance is highly recommended. It’s a holiday weekend and only 10% of car spots on each boat are available for standby vehicles.
New reservations are released two months, two weeks and two days before your intended sailing date. You must arrive 30 minutes before your sailing time for your reservation to be honored.
We highly recommend getting the WDOT app on your phone. You can book reservations, check alerts, and view real time maps of the boats. Staying informed = less stress.
See our “Travel” page for more info and contact us with any questions or concerns. We will help you!
I made it to the island!
How do I get to Pear Point?
We will have approximately 40 on-site parking spots available. Close family, bands, and friends who are camping on site will have first priority for parking spots.
We kindly ask that you discuss carpool plans with your family and friends ahead of time.
We are also providing a small shuttle service that will give rides to Pear Point from the FH Ferry Terminal as well as overflow parking from the Jackson Beach Port parking lot, a 5 minute drive from the property.
Shuttle service will run on a limited schedule from Sunday afternoon-Monday evening. More info TBA.
There are no taxis in Friday Harbor! Please plan accordingly and reach out to friends if you need help. Someone will scoop you and get you to the wedding.
Property Address: 107 Gladys Lane, Friday Harbor, WA 98250
I can’t stay for the full event. Can I attend a portion of it?
Yes! Just let us know what days/times you plan to be here on your RSVP form. We’ll be happy to see you!
What should I wear?
This is a wedding, but more importantly it’s a party! We encourage you to dress as your best, most festive self. We've supplied a color palette as a recommendation for when you style your outfit (or fits, if you’re a weekend warrior) on the “Get Involved” page.
We recommend you have the following with you to be best prepared for weather + good times: shoes that can handle a variety of terrain and do ok with mud and rain, extra socks in the event of rain, rain coat and a warm (festive?) jacket, camping friendly clothes, daytime party apparel, fancy dress.
We kindly ask that outfits include minimal to no tiny beads, sequins, transferable glitter, or anything that has the ability to pollute the land.
Some more fun ideas for the real freaques: glamptastique, perpetual whimsy, nature core
Wearing white is welcomed, we’re not doing that.
I’m planning to camp.
What should I pack?
We are going to make all camping sites as comfy as possible, but we don’t recommend camping without a good camp pad or blow up mattress. We also recommend bringing your rain fly. It’s late May so really anything goes. Historically, it’s been very nice the last couple of Memorial Day weekends. That being said, make sure you’ve got warm layers and blankets.
Tent decorations, added glamp, and disco camp vibes are welcome as long as your embellishments do not incorporate microplastics or other items that could pollute the land.
We will be serving food and drinks throughout the weekend, but come prepared with any additional snacks or beverage needs. There will be campfires available.
Bring water and pack out what you pack in. <3
Is there a rain plan?
Yes. But we are also feeling cautiously optimistic about the weather this year. We will have large tents in the main field, and coverings for food and musical performance. There will be wind covers for tents and heaters as needed. We are of the mindset that we are going to have a good time no matter what the weather does.
Are you accepting gifts?
We are accepting donations of time and talent to this big ol’ party. We would love to have our friends involved, which we feel will cement this experience as a lasting memory for all of us.
Additionally, we have set up a honeymoon fund should you be feeling generous.
I want to perform or volunteer! How do I get involved?
In your RSVP form you will have the option to express your wish to participate. We will contact you thereafter to confirm the details. Any and all volunteerism is welcome!
Is this a kid friendly event?
Yes! Please do let us know ahead of time if you are planning to bring your children or not so we can get an accurate head count.
It is important to us that children understand the rules of the property and remain respectful of the space. Please talk with your kiddos beforehand. :)
Is this a dog friendly event?
No! There are no dogs allowed under any circumstances.
Seriously, please don’t bring your pets. Thanks for understanding!
Can I smoke at this event?
Yes! We will have a Smoking Lounge that is strictly 21+. We ask that all guests use common sense etiquette and absolutely no smoking near the Cabin. Please pick up after yourself and avoid consumption in common areas.
